In simple words: making disciples is what we do!
At HBMI, everything begins with the call of Christ to go and make disciples of all nations. We serve Haitians across the globe by uniting gospel proclamation with practical action. Our mission is rooted in prayer, carried out through strong partnerships, and focused on long-term impact—so that Haitian believers are equipped, churches are planted, and communities are transformed.
We Preach Christ
At the heart of HBMI is the proclamation of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We preach the good news with clarity and boldness so that Haitians everywhere may hear, believe, and find new life in Him. Every church planted, every outreach, and every mission trip begins with the message of the cross.
We Equip Disciples
Christ’s command is not only to make converts but to make disciples. We walk with believers as they grow in faith, teaching them the Word of God, mentoring leaders, and strengthening families. By equipping disciples, we prepare the next generation to stand firm in truth and continue the mission.
We Care For People
God’s love is not only proclaimed—it is demonstrated. We care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of Haitian communities through acts of compassion and service. Whether providing food, healthcare, counseling, or practical help, we show that the love of Christ reaches every part of life.
We send Haitian missionary families as catalysts in the field. They provide leadership, contextualize ministry for the local setting, and mentor new believers to become leaders themselves. These missionaries also serve as church planters, walking alongside communities in their spiritual journey, and as facilitators who help address the real issues families face—whether spiritual, social, or practical. In every role, their calling is to embody Christ’s presence and guide communities toward growth in faith and resilience in daily life.
We organize quarterly mission trips from Haitian Baptist churches in the U.S. to strengthen and expand the work. These trips involve, but are not limited to:
We believe lasting mission is sustained by prayer. That is why we establish prayer networks in the U.S. and in host nations, bringing believers together to intercede faithfully for the work of God. These networks lift up new believers as they grow in Christ, cover missionary families and local leaders with strength and protection, and ask the Lord to transform entire communities through His love. They also seek God’s guidance for the expansion of the mission so that more churches are planted, more disciples are made, and more nations are reached.
We believe mission thrives when God’s people give faithfully. That is why we encourage Haitian churches and partners to commit to consistent missional giving, ensuring that ministry is sustained both locally and abroad. These offerings provide the resources needed to support missionaries, plant churches, serve communities, and expand into new regions. Giving is not only financial—it is an act of worship and partnership in the Great Commission, joining hearts and hands in God’s mission to the nations.
We invest in training leaders so they can multiply ministry, develop self-sustaining churches, and replicate the model in other regions. With the collaboration of our partners, this training includes in-person equipping on the field as well as virtual sessions led from the U.S., providing ongoing mentorship, theological education, and ministry coaching. By raising up equipped leaders, we ensure that the work of the gospel continues and grows long after a mission trip has ended.
